Innerly, almost everyone carries a wish to be loved, to be hugged, to matter to someone. Not only romantically, but to have people who care about our lives and are involved in them—people we can turn to and who can turn to us, who are simply there with us. And although we may long for more love, closeness, friendship and community, it is not always clear how to move towards it. Show Me Love is a closed group built around the proposition that love can be practiced. That It is not only something that just happens to us, invoked by a special kind of people, but also a way in which we meet the world and others. My hope is that what we practice will ripple into our relationships outside the group, but also that something precious can grow between us: care, friendship, collaboration.
